Howard Marshall, who is one of our heart rhythm consultants, is planning to raise money and awareness for the British Heart Foundation. He is goingto walk the Wainwright Coast to Coast route over thirteen days in mid June. All proceeds raised will go toward the BHF Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.

Howard Marshall trained at Leeds University graduating in 1988. After moving to the Midlands for specialist training he gained his MD from the University of Birmingham focusing on Atrioventricular Node Ablation and Pacing in the Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation.
This is a general term that describes some of the procedures that we perform. Ablation is the process that modifies small parts of the heart muscle that are responsible for the abnormal heart rhythms or palpitations. Usually this is done by heating the area using radiofrequency at the end of a catheter that is placed in contact with the heart muscle.
